The 2nd International Conference on Art Deco Architecture: Mediterranean Perspective, held across Cairo and Alexandria (4–8 December 2025), marked the global centenary of the Art Deco movement. The conference examined Art Deco’s spread through Mediterranean port cities, with particular focus on Alexandria and Cairo as centers where European, Egyptian, and cosmopolitan architectural influences merged. Sessions addressed the style’s historical emergence, its role in shaping early 20th-century urban identity, and the pressing challenges of heritage conservation facing this architectural legacy today
